Rainy Day PIG!!

A rainy nasty day... What a pay off!
21 Inch rainbow. She was a wise one, once hooked she headed for the brush. I used just enough give and take on the line to get her turned around. Took about 5 minuets to get her into the net (what could fit). Caddis larve, two split shots at about 4 feet deep was the trick. After a quick picture she was released for another day. I wish I could have gotten some better pictures. I wasn't going to chance the camera out in the rain but for this one, it was worth the gamble.

Stone Mountain Wild Waters

Visited Stone Mountain today. The delayed Harvest waters are still looking grim so I decided to take my 3wt and Battenkill to the wild waters. Very beautiful on Garden Creek today. I was unlucky in catching anything however, I did get to see one. It was not happy that I was in her territory and made a run for it up stream. These wild trout are spooked easily and you only get one cast at them. After stalking the stream for about two hours within a Bear sanctuary, I decided it was time to get back to the truck. Better luck next time, learned alot.. Dont forget knee pads when crawling under laurels !!!

Beautiful day on Big Helton today. Caught two nice browns and one nice Rainbow. All in all the tally for the day was 23 fish with the majority being within the 10-13 inch range. Water was up slightly and some ice was present. Thought I would post a variety of pictures taken today. The enjoyed #12 passion pink San Juans today.
