Newberry and Curtis Creek 9/26/2009

Fished the Wild sections of both Newberry and Curtis Creeks today. Rain was hard at time however, an awsome day. Caught a total of 6 wild Bows today, nothing no bigger than the one pictured. A lack of pictures due to the rain. Wow fishing in a Bear Sancutuary, thought I hear noises every few moments however, just a rainy forest. Samll nymphs done well but when I tried a #12 white wolley bugger, I was surprised to see how this bow attacked it. It charged twice, beautiful fish!

Muddy Waters

Alot of rain and a drizzle all day. Bright colors done well and the Wilds loved em! Sizes #12-#14 kept them interested. Water was up to a good level, once it clears should be FISH ON! Seen a couple risers showing off and some awsome mayflies today.

Helton

Another beautiful day on Helton Creek. Decided to go real small today. Even the trash liked the #26 WD-40 midge. Water was beautiful today but the fish were very spooky. They have been fished hard since June. Glad to see Delayed Harvest kick back in the first of next month.

The Big D

Met up with a friend of mine and fished the Davidson today. Awsome day, good temps and clear water. I seen fish today that are only told in lies... you would never beleive me if I tried. I only caught 4 but missed several. Smart fish on the big D, and to see a 25+ inch fish patrolling the banks was not uncommon today. The hatchery is located above the stream and when they flush the holding tanks, trout pellets go down stream. It looks crazy to see literally 50-100 fish jumping for food. If you have never experienced this area, you should. Thanks to Jason for getting me over here today. Oh, if you prefer the Wilds, just head up stream, I can see why this river is on Tout Unlimiteds top 100 in the US.
