Scouting the Blues

Sunday I decided to scout some blue lines (wild trout water) I haven't fished before. I usually like to take the camera to snap some pics along the hike. The weather was cool, dry and the water was at perfect levels for the roughly 3 mile hike. stopped by the local Apple house to start off then I seen old home sites that once stood in the early 1900's only later to be taken out by flooding. Much history back in here, will be back with the fly rods and waders next time, a sweet spot this is. Hope you enjoy the shots I took along the way.

Outstanding pics, and the scenery is fantastic. I really like the old home places and past history that goes along with old home places. Thanks for sharing

WOW! Fantastic photos and so much in each one. I love the single grave but the action shots of the deer are amazing. The doe jumping the fence...capturing her in mid air...I'm speechless. Truly awesome! Thanks for sharing these gems.

Lb.. Thank you so very much! Being a flyfisherman I've always felt I've had good Karma with the deer. Now that I've started shooting bow again.. Next year I may not be so lucky with getting this close..haha!

I enjoy Fly Fishing the Wild Trout Waters of Western North Carolina, being Outdoors and simple Photography. I found that some of the best opportunities for taking a picture happens when you least expect it and always when your not ready with a more formal camera.

In this blog, the photography is taken with either my Kodak M1033 HD , Olympus 550WP Pocket Cameras or my Droid Smart Phone from Motorola. At Times when I take a break from the weather or hours of wading the streams, I may use my Nikon P100 that will allow me to take a slightly better picture.

My fishing gear is mostly Abel, Simms, Orvis, Fishpond, Sage and Winston. I enjoy tying my own flies however, The Fly Stop has an awsome collection of top quality flies that I often order from.

Locally, I keep myself outfitted from Casters Fly Shop (Orvis) in Hickory North Carolina and Wilson Creek Outfitters (Simms/Fishpond) in Morganton NC. Both Dave (Casters) and Walt (WCO) are great to deal with I highly recommend visiting their sites and stores.
